Hey there moms!
Welcome to #pandemicedition of Active Mom of the Month!
This is LINDA RODRIGUEZ. An active mom of two, Lauralynn and Oscar, who keep her on her toes and love to snuggle (and work out with her).
I work outside of the home. I currently am working from home during this pandemic though, which has been tough!
If you work for someone other than your family (inside or outside the home) what is your job? Licensed Specialist in School Psychology for South San Antonio ISD
Normally, we wake up, I get the kids ready and drop them off at school. I go to work and then either my husband or I pick the kids up and we head to the gym. After the gym we come home to eat dinner (that I prepared the night before) and then the kids get baths, we watch tv or play and put them to bed.
Currently, we wake up, we feed the kids, and then my husband or I work with Laurelynn on letters or numbers for about an hour. I work from home daily from 8-5 doing meetings, reports and assessments and the kids are usually running around in the background. They take a nap and then I usually will work outside while they play after. I work out, get the kids fed and baths and then we hang out before bed.
Love staying at home with the baby and spending time with family, even though it can become mentally and emotionally draining. I wouldn’t trade it for anything now.
I have been active off and on my whole life. I did nothing during my first pregnancy and realized how difficult it was to recover from it all. I started working out most days in August of 2016 and haven’t slowed down since.
6 days a week. I do a mixture of 9Round which is 30 minutes of circuit training with an emphasis on kickboxing. I also do weight training a few days a week and the occasional run.
I love all this time with my kids, but working from home is not for me. I also applaud stay at home moms! This is tough. Also another random thing about me is that my favorite time with my kids is when they first wake up and right before bed. That’s when they are the most cuddliest and I love that.
Linda’s Advice to Moms:
Just do it. Even if you go on a walk or do a quick 30 minute workout, that is something. There is no excuse not to. You can’t take care of your kids and your family if you don’t take care of yourself first.
Seeing them grow in every way and knowing that I am a part of these two amazing human beings.
